The cost of cancer care is a huge concern to everyone, especially the underprivileged, when they receive this frightening diagnosis. Loss of income, bills and debt can add up quickly causing enormous financial and emotional strain on the patient and family. Many are not able to afford treatment costs and therefore do not survive the disease.

The Cancer Cure fund provides financial aid to patients with an income of less than Rs 4 lakhs per year. This program has transformed the lives of cancer patients, many of whom have completed their treatment and returned to a productive life once again.

14000 patients have been supported since the start of this program in 2011; Rs 245 crores has been disbursed with each receiving up to Rs 5 lakhs.

Indian Cancer Society has implemented this program in 19 hospitals across India and 45% of the beneficiaries are between the age 16-45 years.
